From John Rappaport's website: www.nomorefakenews.com With all the propaganda floating around, it's a good idea to read the words of an American super-patriot, a man who was REALLY there. Not just a civilian. His name was Smedley Butler. He enlisted in the US Marines in 1898. He worked his way up from nowhere to become a major general and finally commandant of the whole Marine Corps. He fought in wars. He was, to many, THE hero of his time. After his retirement, he thought things over and wrote a little book called War Is a Racket.

"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses."
