i saw this on the news this morning. someone is now selling canned air, and not that compressed air duster that dumb teenagers huff, but "actual" canned air from five cities of your choice: paris, new york city, prague, berlin, and singapore. $9.99 (plus shipping) will get you a small paint can full of 100% organic air. i think its a pretty cool idea, not $9.99 plus shipping cool, but a nice gift idea for someone that likes weird, but not too weird, conversation pieces. it does make you wonder, would the paris one smell of freshly baked croissants, perhaps a touch of perfume mingling faintly with a tinge of cigarettes? would the berlin one smell like a pungent mixture of burning coal and exhaust fumes, combined with the sweet musk of beer and sausage? frankly, i have no idea. it probably wouldnt smell like anything, right? after all, it is just a can full of nothing. i cant help but wonder though, what if it did? but really, more than anything else, all i can think about is that its a pretty sad that this novelty gift item is considered newsworthy.
