pete i remember opening that package to see seven letters and a star and a few mostly intact petals from a crimson rose.

i read the letters, i read them again, and then again. i placed the star in the west where i could always see it and bid it adieu before departing for the dream world. i tried to do the same with the petals. they refused and slowly disentegrated, and now are no longer in existance as crimson rose petals.

in december i reread the almost year old letters, had a rush of old emotions, and wrote a reply, sent it on the day before christmas eve, and it was recieved.

the star, though now i live not where my parents do, came with me and is on my west wall. it is a focus of energy to the west, across great seas called lakes and plains to where the energy is needed when i send it. it is a comfort and representative of a friendship, once lapsed now strong again.

forever it lives, though, lives the crimson rose
