I found one, sitting in the backyard. Plucked it, immediately wished I hadn't. Closer inspection showed three healthy leaves, the fourth torn by some unknown agency, a mere thread of stem keeping it attached. I'm really hoping this doesn't mean anything.

and i stood by the banks of the river and made a deal with the universe ok, now, if this is the right decision, let me find a four leaf clover. then i'll know i should continue on this path. and i walked along the river and found a four leaf clover. and another and another and a bunch more. i think i found about 20 that day and i thought hmm. ok, well, thats what i should do. the next day, walking along the river, i found about 30 more. thinking, hmm, you know, the universe really wants me to do this thing. this thing i made a deal to do with the universe and i sat and thought about it for ages and then decided that i didnt want to do it. fuck the universe. i had something else to do something better something different. and now i have a bunch of four leaf clovers like an ignored blinking message light on the answering machine of my life. sounds like a country song.

sometimes four leaf clovers grow in bunches. we found a load of them once and decorated a payphone with them.
