Signs of the Times People power: Iraqi voters make their mark
'I would have crawled here if I had to. Today I am voting for peace'

Large lines of voters defy threats of violence and flock to polling stations
(AFP) Monday, January 31, 2005

The Iraqis realize how precious thier freedom is. They risked their very lives to come out and vote today, changing the world forever.
Those whose god is Hate attempted to thwart elections with suicide bombings, death threats, and fliers warning that the streets will "run red with the blood" of those who came out to the polls today.

Today is a beautiful day in human history. A nation is free.
A people defies their oppressors to embrace the freedom they've paid for dearly (along with troops from the US and many other nations in the World).

Freedom isn't free. But it is extremely valuable, and quite worthy of the incredible expense. In the end, we all, especially our children, benefit from the sacrifices made that made this possible.
