One of them had a prescription for Xanax, and their plan was to split the whole bottle if anyone ever found out about the scheme. They never followed through with their plan, but it wouldn't have mattered. A doctor interviewed for the article said that their plan was a poor one because barring any other health probelems or mixing with other drugs, you can't fatally overdose on Xanax or any other benzo. This is why doctors are not as cautious when doling out anxiety meds as they are anti-depressants and other medications because they have no fatal effects (again, barring other health problems or drugs). When I would take Ativan my chest would get heavy and I would always be a little freaked out (until it really kicked in), so when I read that I was really surprised.
