unhinged i got a valentine from luca yesterday. luca is five. he was very excited to surprise me with it. it was a cars valentine. i told him i had never seen the movie and he invited me over his house to watch it.

chances are it's the only valentine i'll get this year, but it was a cute one. it made me smile, dimples and all.

raze well the last time i had a valentine i could see on the day they were my valentine was never, but now i'm surrounded by things with pages, things with stories to tell me, and they're not people but they can be my valentines, so i'll have more than one, and i'll make a sandwich and do a little dance. 140214

flowerock I am choosing to kind of ignore it. the excess of U.S holidays is wasteful and bothers me. see my post on blue blather for more on that, I feelike copy pasting to double post is not really cool.

I will happily make my lover some yummy french pressed organic coffee with cocoa powder, peppermint oil, and sweet maca before he wakes up, soon. maybe later we'll talk to some flowers out side.

blathertine ? came to mind. blather red is kind of festive for this day though I 'spose ; )

no reason speaking of excess holidays, this year valentines_day comes right before family_day in certain provinces. which is a pointless holiday/day off work i'm thankful for. 140214

flowerock family day? really? I don't think the U.S celebrates this. If we did we would probably call it "sit in front of the television with fast food while texting next to each other day".

also, here's what the history channel says about V-day. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/st-valentine-beheaded

epitome of incomprehensibility Only one of my Valentine's Days was spent in a relationship of the sort this day celebrates.

But I want to know how to characterize a recurring fling; surely that's long-term in some sense? The ones I keep coming back to, spicy at their core, aren't around for me or even appealing to me most of the year except around this day.

I'm not talking humans now. I'm talking cinnamon hearts.

nr i don't care much about it (last year, my boyfriend at the time and i went out for dinner and then to a pub to play poolhow romantic!), but the fact that it's on a saturday this year makes me a bit uncomfortable. i like the idea of just going out regular-saturday-night style, but i'm not sure how possible that will be.

the day after, on the other hand, is full of stores selling discount chocolate, which is never a bad thing.

raze just a hair past midnight, as it technically became valentine's day, i heard someone outside scream at the top of their lungs, "DIE, YOU WHORE."

i gotta say, that's a new way of ushering in the day of romance for me.

epitome of incomprehensibility Thank you! The same to you.

It's strange that this day brought about celebration-related actions. It doesn't usually. But when someone I was emailing for a German-class project wrote "Frohen Valentinstag," I passed along that greeting in my email to David. On my way out of class, I bought my brother a robot-shaped alarm clock robot made by someone in Concordia's engineering department. To Mom I gave a chocolate rose, quoting something one of her kindergarten students said to her years ago: "I dreamed I gave you a flower! And it was EVEN a rose!"

(And my dream mom needn't worry; it was an asexual rose, not a lesbian_necklace.)

e_o_i edits WHY the double "robot"?

Ah well. Nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" better than redundant robots.

nr it's not the day itself i really care about. it's just that it's something that says "put person at priority" in giant letters in front of your eyes, and it's up to you whether to choose to see it. 250114
