Across the moon, clouds pass smoothly over what you know to be a distant rocky surface like the Monday downward stares and passing feet of late capitalism on the way to forsaken and unnecessary work. A raven or jackdaw or crow perches on a lamppost with segmented and keratin claws, borne of gravity and the cleverness of dumbly gathered genes. The nearby apartments are all dark the bromides of the day exhausted there is no destination, and the bird from the lamppost - the only evidence of existence is now briefly passing across a source of light from and to more waiting dumbness, as if it's flying into its own history, recapitulating phylogeny in binary flaps. With a crack, the wings stretch, a real pierce of a cry extends, and with awkward shoulder shrugs the bird brings another locality, making moons of rocks, another mass moving through the invisible contours of weight.
