decided to step up from vegetarian to vegan after being petaized and then I remembered the boots pondered it long and hard should the cow have had to died so I could wear it's hide on my feet? but then should a plant have had to died so I could have all the stuff I eat? they say plants don't suffer, but how do we know? we know they aren't like us, and that is all. people say they see the suffering in the eyes of soon to be dead animals. I figure we should have more ability to empathize, and so not eat them... but do I really care? when it comes down to it, how much do I really care? I find more reason in that meat and dairy are fairly poor nutritionally, despite what the industries would have you believe in most instances, I would avoid animal products, because there's so little value in them besides keeping up with the status quo (which is worthless to me) and then there's the boots. how much of a reason was there? ("you worry to levels I can't even comprehend")

a life i tried to lead, albeit briefly. i avoided all animal products for just over a month, but i think that some of us are evolutionarily unprepared to forgo the taste of flesh, i began having strange dreams about vampirism, as a child my cuspids were pulled to make room for the fact that i have outsized canines. finally, unsatisfied by the taste of the meat substitutes (i had been to every store in town that carried such things) thirty five days into my experiment, i broke down and drove to the grocery store down the road, bought a pound of blood-rare deli-sliced roast beef and a bag of cookies The smell of the meat in the bag was a heady thing, i was going to forgo the bread and just devour it my boss said i looked almost feral as i sat in the luchroom wolfing down the slices. the butter sugar cookies afterward were a wonderul desert.

went cold turkey from meat in 96 havent had a problem, or a craving with the food meat eaters are a whole other thang always, always, its a weird thing for them to 'deal' with how ridiculous evidence of an unimaginative, unempathetic moron vegan is hard, no more store bought bread, very little store bought pasta something i might do when i start to approach my settled thirties

"Freegan" by Bigwig I'd club a baby seal but ya know i wouldn't ingest it i'd tell my vegan girlfriend "Well ya know i wouldn't suggest it" All my shoes are leather and i don't care whether or not if all the cute little animals were to be SHOT! Consider someone else, stop preaching about animals...

i've had people not invite me to dinner, because they werent sure that the restaurant would serve veg food when i do get invited to dinner parties, i always have to remember to remind the hosts that i dont eat meat, and they usually forget when they dont forget, they foul up on the whole main course thing either there isnt one (i'm supposed to eat sides instead), or the one they came up with has either cheese or eggplant as a meat substitute; or they just give me a salad i hate it when meat eaters think i like eating vegetables, and so put more and obscure vegetables in foods that dont usually have them (how many people put zuccini, carrots, and broccoli in their burritos?) i've been lied to, when they forget, if the meat is unrecognizable or in small enough quantities, that they think i might not notice i get used to it, but its very annoying; especially when its a restaurant, and i ask them if a food has meat in it, and they lie to me and say that it doesnt most meat eaters have a problem with it, and look down upon non meat eaters as defective, strange, and probably unamerican many go out of their way to get me to start eating meat again, as if what i was doing were wrong

we are a murderous species our eyes sit directly forward in our skulls part of our evolutionary heritage is the formation of weapons from whatever we can find our teeth are a mixture of herbivorous grinding implements and carnivourous tearing instruments we rape the land to live on it, to travel on it everything we do, seemingly without exception is an affront to the natural order i have never looked down on anyone who didn't eat meat but i for goddamned sure take exception to the superior attitude that so many herbivores take with me it is only my concern for the consequence of law that has prevented me from killing and eating another human being in a fit of pique if i could get away with it there are any number of past enemies who i would have just as soon eaten simply for the privilege of being able to excrete them the next day empathy be damned

I was never "Vegan" or "Macro-Biotic" I never gave up eggs or cheese or even the occasional fish flesh, But I considered myself "vegetarian" for many years. It was Natural Foods that were the thrust of my Regimen, Foods as close to there complete fresh state as I could find. Potatoes and carrots with the peel. Brown rice, and honey, not sugar. I felt great, But this lifestyle was possible because I lived within a small community of likeminded individuals using co-op buying to obtain products affordably. When I left and moved to a city in the South, I found it too costly, and difficult to maintain.

sometimes i get the feeling that meat eaters think its unnatural that someone would choose not to eat meat i never really switched for a reason, but now am like permanoid with meat eaters for their lack of intelligence (not all meat eaters, but pretty much all of the ones that have no experience with a meatless diet, and no experience interpolating and extrapolating when little information is available directly, no vision; what is obvious if you think about, they dont seem to get...)

When I resumed ingesting meat, I became Violently Ill, It tore my stomach up, I passed mucous from my Anus. Not a pretty picture, but true. It only lasted a few hours and on the other side of the episode I could eat anything I wanted. It was just a matter of adjusting all the micro-fauna in my digestive tract. I guess I had starved them out by the years of not ingesting meat.

I'm an omnivore. See. (grin) I am the dragon that lives in the heart of the world and hungers the more I eat. I considered culinary school. That's what I get for being food-oriented. But I blame my parents. really.

The centerpeice of an American meal. How about another Heart attack hamburger with that pus shake, sir? The average american consumes more meat, diary products and soda then veggies and fruits. People always ask "Why?" Well why the hell not? Eat to live, not live to eat...

i'm high and reading my old blathes i just noticed that in a different frame of mind, i sounded real anti meat eater but i have to say, that irl, i respect the thoughtful diets of my friends those who eat what they have chosen, i would not encourage to deviate those who eat without thinking, i would, for practicality's sake i'm really not a food nazi(?)
