thanks to ever dumbening's previous encouragement to see this film, the crew went to the manor theatre in squirrel hill and was thoroughly amazed by this scottish artist and his work with time and nature. this film is a work of art in itself. a sensual and poetic journey into the world and mind of this renowned sculptor. using materials from nature, goldsworthy allows the elements to have the last say in his beautiful creations, as his ingenious patterns of wood, leaves, stone, and ice move and erode over time. we spoke afterwards on our way back to the laurel highlands in fyn's new outback as the new idlewild record played. we talked about flow, about what time does to us, about impressions, about beauty. we are the living sculptures. www.riversandtides.org
