day_out_of_time REAListic optimIST is when the Mayans choose to recognize the imperfection of their numeric system within which they try to restrict the workings of the world. It is the day that doesn't fit in with their calendar, so they observe it as a day out of time, a day that does not exist within temporal reality. It's truly a beautiful day to observe. Any time I've observed it, I've engaged in a group prayer for the healing of the world. Since their calendar ends in a mere five years, there is a great deal of speculation about what such things mean. Will the world end?
