Alright, guys, listen up. I had a dream the other night of the most beautiful, perfect date you could ever take a woman on. It wouldn't be an easy one to pull off, but I think I can manage it. Here are the things you need: 1 You need a very beautiful outdoorsy place to go. Something very full of God. 2 You need to know someone that has (or have yourself) a horse... or be able to rent one. They have places that do that. 3 Pinic basket full of fruit, and wine. Do the math, gentlemen. Treat her like a lady. Show her that chivalry isn't dead as long as their are knights who still ride horses. What a great date that would be! I'll give it a try and I'll let you know how it works out ;)

you also need to be able to bring this horse you have to your nice little place outside, taking into consideration it may not be anywhere near where this horse is. this is not as easy as you may think.

i'm only pointing out problems you will come across so you don't have to worry about them on your perfect date.

what if this girl thinks that "chivalry" is a bunch of shit? is she not the perfect date then?

Chivalry has nothing to do with what you possess (a horse, a picnic basket, etc.) It is more about how you act and what you believe in. It has to do with the respect you have for the girl you are with. Chivalry is something that you can't see with your eyes. Having all these tangible things (wine etc.) on a date will not necessarily make a "perfect date". A guy could bring a girl to a very simple place without going all out and still make her feel like well respected royalty. That's chivalry. A picnic basket and a horse are just a picnic basket and a horse. Sorry to burst your bubble. Chivalry lies in your behavior, not the material goods you can offer. The girl will see through it all and like the previous writer pointed out...she might think it's a charade.

tell you what... you come out with me on this date, then make your decisions about whether it's a charade. Doesn't anyone dream anymore?

as usual, i see both sides of this. i mean, put yourself in the position of having a guy surprise you by taking you out on a horseback ride into some secluded meadow next to a lake, spreading out a picnic basket full of delectable things... jiminy! yes, if you don't like horses, or you're allergic to grass, or the boy isn't right, it's not going to be right. but it's a damn good start. closest to that that i can think of having done was brought a picnic basket, candles, wine, cheeze, crackers, fruit, and fine chocolates to the steps of this stone outdoors ampitheater on the campus... it was a wonderful impromptu romantic dinner, until the cops came by. apparently, they saw the candle and thought we were smoking weed, then kicked us out because we had open alcohol (a bottle o' wine) on campus property. *shrug* still a cool night. just no horses.

I am old fashioned. I want my boyfriend to open car doors, house doors, any doors for me. I want him to try to pay for everything (not because i'm cheap, just because I think it's the way things should be ... i always offer to pay, but i always hopehe insists on paying [which my man always does]). I want him to offer me his jacket on shiveringly cold days, I want him to hold me like he's protecting me, I want him to cherish me and hold me on a pedestal and believe that I am the most perfect thing to have ever entered his life. And I will do the same for him.

hypothetically, it sounds sweet and romantic and all that other shit. however, i don't think there is one single guy out there who could pull this off without making me laugh at his attempts. this sort of an idea is too much of a cliche for me to ever think "aww what a gentleman." it's right up there with long moon-lit strolls on the beach. he has to be a lot more creative than that to interest me in his perfect date, and hopefully not set on showing me chivalry still exists, because i don't care.

dammit, and i said i would never blather on red.... chivalry isn't all about material things...it's about actions and the way you treat your lady. personally, the horse and the picnic are a bit much...i'm simple, i still get warm and fluttery in the tummy when he opens every door for me, and when he kisses my forehead in the moring and tells me i'm beautiful. i like the simple things. sometimes all the nice things and romantic dates in the world don't mean anything. like someone said, if it's not with the right person, it won't mean a thing. i'm kinda getting to like having a broke boyfriend. i'm starting to appreciate the little things that so many people just look over.

My opinion-while it sounds nice-it is a bit too much fluff and junk for me. The word perfect has different meanings to each person. Like a few other people have said before, simplicity is a good thing. Also, I'm not a fan of people going out of their way to open a door for me. A guy recently opened my car door for me, and I nearly puked on his shoes. My arms, hands, and fingers work perfectly fine and can open my car door. Now-had my hands been full or something like that-preventing me from opening my door, it would have been a nice gesture. Somebody walking through a door I'm going through too-I wouldn't mind them holding the door so it doesn't swap me in the face. I have mixed feelings about your perfect date. It's nice yet it needs a little kick...

Doesn't a perfect date start with head? Cause I think it does! Why not just take a girl (or guy..for some of you)to some place where you can talk......about anything. Taco Bell, The Mall, Watching T.V., going somewhere where you can converse on a person to person basis is much more romantic than anything involving a big, stinky, possibly dangerous mammal. But the head at the beginning is key.

ok. doesnt a perfect date have to be perfect for both people. so why not have him pick you up or whatever. maybe a little bit of head on the way to wherever she decides to go (hey guys ur getting head) but make sure what she decides to do wont last all day (sorry ladies) then go do what you want to do... but open doors for her n shit.just do whatever. if its going to be perfect though you have to have fun. tell some fucking jokes and laugh at the other persons, even if there not funny, humor them
