i am a bad friend. haven't given it an entire listen yet. for some reason, my itunes keeps putting the tracks of any cd in alphabetical order instead of cd order and i can't figure out why or how to make it stop. it's driving me bat shit. not really a good excuse, but that's my excuse all the same and i'm sticking to it. don't you know by now that the stuff you are afraid no one will like is the stuff they always like the best silly?

you're not a bad friend! not by a long shot. look at me...i owe you, like, a seven million word email. that's right. i said "like". with commas in between it. look out!

maybe we can set up a google chat but seriously, do you have any idea how to make my itunes stop doing that? it's seriously uncool. i'm kinda ocd like that and like to listen to music in the order the artist intended for it. (yeah, and check that out. i said seriously twice in the same paragraph)

finally gave it a listen. i figured out how to fix the sequencing problem i was having. i just clicked on the box above the numbers and it put the track numbers in order. duh. this album happens to be the soundtrack of my current break_up. not that it's particularly break uppy, but that it has a feel to it that i can't quite describe, like me at the moment. i was nearing the end when my ex called me. at one point in the conversation he said 'i need to get laid so anytime you feel like it call me' and i proceeded to get so angry that i had to switch to heavy rock for the rest of the day. i'm gonna give it another listen soon.

i put it in the other day and tears welled. i listened to it a lot when he broke up with me a couple months back. it has the association of heart break. the tears welled. (even though i should be happy now with the new boy)

maybe someday i'll make the kind of album people can dance to on saturday nights. probably not likely, given the fact that people don't often find themselves moved to sing along to songs about faded action stars, but you never know... the response this album has been getting still surprises me. i mean, i like how it turned out, but i didn't expect other people would like it as much as they do. must be something to do with the monochrome...

of all the albums i've made, this one has what might be the least interesting cover art. it felt appropriate at the time, and it still does, but it's literally just white text on a black background. that didn't stop some norwegian dude who wanted to make an album with the same name from ripping off my album cover so he could save himself the trouble of coming up with something of his own. https://kentstianhaugland.bandcamp.com/album/love-songs-for-nihilists-ep if he'd stolen my music, i would be livid. but this ... this is kind of hilarious. he couldn't even be bothered to copy the original image at a decent resolution. and the font he used to tack his name on beneath the title is so ill-fitting, it's insane. it takes something unspectacular but serviceable, and alters it into something that looks like total dog shit. what kind of person does that? who steals album art that can hardly be called art at all? it would have taken him all of two minutes to make something similar-but-not-the-same, if he really wanted a cover that looked like mine. hell, in two minutes he probably could have done better than i did. people are so strange. you'd think they would at least steal things that have some creative energy behind them.
