will be be best offset if enough right-wingers who don't think that President Chimpy is far enough on their side can convince crazy Alabama judge Roy "By god" Moore to run too, that way both sides will have a spoiler to contend with

i used to think that voting for your conscience was the best course of action, but now i realize that voting for a major party ticket is the only realistic option. Vote for the lesser of two evils, one will win anyways.

is a vote for bush. c'mon, people. we can't do the 2000 election over again. send your message some other year. for now, be fucking realistic and realize that he's not gonna win and you're either for bush or you're against him. kerry's the only way to get that jack ass out of d.c. and ralph's already caused too much trouble. and don't gimme that shit about how you may hate bush but you don't like kerry either and you don't wanna just vote for the lesser evil. any other time that might be an acceptable argument, even commendable, but now is not the time. I'm usually a very liberal person, but let's face it, just cuz he knows he's not wanted, bush's feelings won't get hurt, congress doesn't give a shit about what you're trying to say. they think and act according to what is most politically advantageous to themselves. voting third party doesn't make a point, it makes four more years of this shit. don't do it. I'm begging you, don't do it!!!

Yeah, imagine the unmitigated disaster! Fortunately it won't come close to happening, unless his few friends can rig the country's voting machines more effectively than Bush/Cheney's many are trying to. The guy's a bigger hypocrite than Bush/ Cheney. He's more of a fanatic for his cause, which is himself. He has not even a scintilla of foreign policy experience. He has neither interest in nor ability to compromise. He has no friends in the Congress. It's tragic that a guy whom so many once greatly admired has turned out to be widely despised because of his uncontrollable egomania. Because of that he has become effectively a hypocrite serving all the terrible causes he once was praised for opposing. This time like last, a vote for Nader is one for Bush/Cheney.

David Neiwert @ Orcinus (http://dneiwert.blogspot.com) sums it up nicely, in the comments section following his post about how hoping that Alabama lunatic judge Roy Moore could have the same effect on the Republican party runs too much risk of being a double-edged sword as the media has become too unquestioning and too willing to provide exposure to more and more right-wing extremist views (Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter's regular presence in the media, anyone?) "Voting for president isn't an exercise in ideological purity. It's a pragmatic decision about where you want the balance of power to lie. It comes down to: Do you want to be playing defense or offense for the next four years?"

nocturnal, I hope you didn't get the impression that I'm voting for nader, because believe me I won't. By saying vote for the lesser of two evils, I meant voting for a major party candidate of your choosing. I don't think that either Karry or Bush is the guy for me, but Kerry fits my beliefs much much much more than Bush. Bush has threatened the environment, our safety, international relations (kicking the UN in the face), womens' right to choose, and gay marriage. Kerry is more left than Bush, but he also too centrist to fit my beliefs. However, we cannot expect to have any candidate win the presidency unless he takes a centrist position. No matter how far right we may view Bush, he is still more centrist than a lot of conservatives. He does not get my endorsement by any means. This election is all about Kerry and I will do anything to support him. I also think that it would be politically beneficial if he picked John McCain as a running mate. Wouldn't it be cool to have a liberal republican coupled with a democrat? They would have to win, because you would be able to get a lot of swing voters with a two-party ticket. That would be the best possible senario I think. It has never happened before and I'm sure it will not happen this year, but the vice-presidential candidate needs to be a uniter and not a divider.
