john
raze someone dropped it in the mailbox a week or ten years or a century ago, and i kept it for some reason that still isn't clear to me. it came from the turner road bible chapel, on the corner of tecumseh and walker. i never took it out of its plastic sleeve. it's about the size of a cue card. on the front there's a drawing of purple flowers bordering a verse from the bible. john 14:6. that's the bit where jesus gets all fired up and starts talking about how no one gets to meet god without going through him first. like he fancies himself some sort of cosmic bouncer. on the flip side there's a long writeup that unpacks the deeper meaning of the printed passage. i haven't read it, because the first heading in bold is "understanding john". i think i understand myself pretty well already. even if i sometimes wish i didn't. 220702
