In which "kirsten_snoose" replies to comments on a video about the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Witness the descent from Canadian Kindness to Canadian Passive-Aggressive Sarcasm: ... Exhibit A: "It must have been really stressful to be so close to that, especially in your line of work. Thank you for all your volunteering over the years, and I'm glad you're safe. The only thing is, how is 'never forget' incompatible with a NYC mayor being Muslim? You might disagree with Mamdani's politics, which is fair, but it's not fair to think that all Muslims are responsible for al-Q'aida. It would be like thinking that all Catholics abuse children, etc. Peace from Montreal. ❤️" ... Exhibit B: "Evidence for him laughing? The latest thing I heard about Mamdani is that he's seeking fair compensation for workers at the WTC site who suffered health problems. And even if that's just political spin, it's simply illogical to equate all Muslims with al-Q'aida. In Quebec City, seven years ago, an anti-Muslim terrorist entered a mosque and shot six people dead. This is not just to say that anti-Muslim rhetoric can lead to violence - it's also to point out that it would be illogical to extrapolate from that example and say, 'Oh, you people (Québécois) are all terrorists.'" ... Exhibit C (in response to "Yet look who New Yorkers elected Mayor. That makes as sick as the attack"): "I'm sorry you get sick so easily. Will it help you to learn that being Muslim doesn't automatically make you a terrorist? You might as well say I'm a Donald Trump clone since we're both Presbyterian. (You never know about those Presbyterians, after all...) Love and peace from Canada! ❤️" ... Love and peace indeed. I'd be better off resigning my keyboard sword and continuing the Mansfield_Park fanfic I was outlining last night (Mary Crawford in contemporary Montreal, because there's a street called Mansfield near McGill, and her still getting in trouble for making inappropriate remarks at the wrong times, but a bit more sympathetically...) Those people (ADHDers) will waste time on anything. Abstract nouns from name of place, red heart.

i guess i technically did this when i went out of my way to try and fail my grade twelve english class as an impotent act of rebellion, answering test questions about "macbeth" with absolute nonsense that had nothing to do with shakespeare (i remember writing something about the care bears somewhere in there), because mrs. broad had completely broken my spirit after deciding my writing was everything that was wrong in the world and i'd grown to hate what had always been my favourite subject in school. after a while, i stopped turning in assignments altogether out of spite. the joke is i passed anyway. i couldn't even flunk with flying colours. but i should try to dig out some of my old high_school homework one_of_these_days. there might be some pretty amusing stuff in there, even if it's entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

I'd be curious too! I wish I chose imaginative ways of dealing with teenage frustrations more often (sometimes I did; sometimes it was just meanness). About your mark, it doesn't seem that your teacher was caring or attentive to begin with, but I've noticed that sometimes I get things right when I'm not even trying. Maybe because the pressure is off. And the opposite! Like above: I was trying to get my facts right, but the Quebec City shooting was nine years ago, not seven. And I remembered 2017, too. (Subtraction sucks. Like thinking of a gone-away dog when vacuuming dust. Ashes to asks, dusk to ducks.)
