some words unsettle by being so familiar. don't think of debt, think of each letter as an excuse to write another. we will greet the time. that is, if you write for me...

The survey was 11 questions and it was the usual crap which claims to come true... example, the person you wrote in number 3 is the person you love. Blah blah blah, i wrote him down because i talked with him last. The only thing that made me laugh was my selection of song titles. Number 9 says that the song i wrote down for number 10, is the state of my mind. Baby snakes. Hmm... A little demented, laced with sexual innuendos, and a touch of perverse. The unsettling part is it seems to be true...

there was a strange vibe out today. there's been strangeness ever since the start of the pandemic, but maybe it's worse during lockdowns. the "hey! hey!" from the guy in his car waiting at the stoplight in traffic trying to get my attention, followed by the "i like your hair" from the guy walking nearby (it was pulled to my head by my KN95 mask..??) and then "happy new year" and some other chatter.

it's just a constant feeling of being on high alert when unwanted guests are in your home.

I can relate. I had mice a few years ago and it was, truly, unsettling. (I have plans for future blathes about how they slowly destroyed my mind by chewing in the walls all night). So assuming you're referring to the mice (and not some unwanted human guests) I very much feel your pain!

i keep staring at the hole i carved into my bedroom door on an especially bad morning. look at a thing like that long enough and you can convince yourself there's almost anything on the other side of the darkness worn into whitewashed wood by a self-made wound. even a set of eyes with no earthly body to call their own.
