i don't know why this song does what it does to me, but it does. some sort of beautiful whisper with just enough red in its eyes to let you know it's real. "now i'm thinking maybe i was stoned. i felt my feet lift off the ground, and my heart was screaming at my bones. i need you closer."

Oh! I found this. I think that was the song that was playing on CBC radio (Q, with Pia Chattapadday then) when I wrote this "FREELY TRANSCRIBED" thing in one of my blue notebooks: Intead of kitchen and beads and kitchen beads and cards, callous palace stuff is Play-Doh, imaginative play and big blocks. Is that okay? Do you mind if I turn the radio on? What station is the time? Just for me, babe, that's why I still have wings. But why, baby, why is Celsius precious? Why are we, baby, closer in a sugar generation? Take me soon. Be bolder. Touch me in dreams. "Sleeping colder ends taking my shoulder; I'm confused. Take me closer. I want to be alone, a break from same, about to leave. Take me precious, closer. Believe. Performing the song "Taking Chances" by keys and vocals. Hello. Really lovely Studio Q, most critically correct studio connecting..." It goes on like that. I was riding in the passenger seat of the old car, my mom driving, and she turned on the radio. I think I caught the "Closer" song right in the middle, and I wrote down my muddled impression of the lyrics. The next part is an interview, but I think it's about a different song. Unless there's a song called "Taking Chances" that has very similar lyrics.

Misplaced quotation mark there. Gah. Why, baby? Why IS Celsius precious?? Let me actually hear this song. No, it's not the song I wrote the mangled lyrics to. It's much different. It's lovelier! Lovelier than a critically acclaimed studio connecting. With Coeur de Pirate (at least the English songs I heard from her), I feel she overdoes the "cutesy" voice and closes her vowels too soon, and singer here is just a little bit like that... but here I don't mind. It seems part of the personality of the song. Of course, I shouldn't criticize Coeur de Pirate either. It's harder to sing in a second language.

See radio_80hd - the song I was writing down fuzzily long ago (Oct. 8, 2014) was "Taking Chances" by Sharon Van Etten, which is also cool, although maybe not as distinctive in the vocals?

i love sharon. well, i don't know her personally. so it's not that kind of love. but "love_more" is one of those songs i can only listen to once every year or so, because of how hard it hits. not a lot of people can do that to me. she has fists! fists of voice!
