raze the head of this pedestal fan is at least half as old as mine. the threads that hold it in place have weakened with age, and now its neck shakes, and i hear it rattling all through the night. it's probably been doing that from the beginning, but for years it was quiet enough to ignore. it isn't anymore. so what cools me down at the end of the day isn't air made sharper by all the dormant vents on this floor that won't ever cough up anything i can use. it's the trembling of five rotating blades behind a plastic shell, working hard to do what came naturally when we both had sharper teeth and less dust around our feet. 220305
