epitome of incomprehensibility In a science movie I saw, or a recorded program, or something to that effect, the following theory was presented:
In one of Earth's ice ages 600 million years ago, the whole planet froze over for a few million years. Snowball earth. It sounds like some kind of game.

And people seem to be increasingly concerned about global warming... which makes sense since it's happening... usually where I live there's a lot of snow by this time.

But AT LEAST we're not freezing over. That, er, would not be cool.

Seriously, millions of years... boggles the mind, we just don't think in millions... Will humans survive nature? Or is it: will nature survive humans?
