I remember that night at the Workman's when Terri's mom leaned on the edge of the bed. "I have a secret. I used to suck my thumb too." I was mortified. Noone talked out loud about this to me before. At least, not unless they were actually *trying* to embarass me. "But y'know what, Samantha? One day I just stopped doing it. And you will too. Like a bad habit." Y'know what, that woman never did know a damn thing.

She passed through to see my sights. She admired every monmument, noting the etchings at the bases with names of their creators. Motivation constructed many. Perserverence also racked up a few. But she couldn't find enough pieces by Kindness. She didn't even see my original Love! The girl searched all the famous museums. If only she had checked the back galleries. Okay, so it's kind of dim back there. But there are beautiful and honest exhibits, too. Only somebody with keen eyes can see them I guess. That person must have really good vision. Surely better than mine. That girl will be scouting for a new place to call home, not visiting. I don't think this country's half bad. Oh well. I'll admit the military has an overbearing presence and the government sometimes has lapses in judgement. Gah. I better not put this stuff in the brochure.

I, like everyone else here, am tourist. We are forever on vacation in this foreign land. While we are here, our lives should be lived to the fullest, and we should enjoy every moment we have. Those who stay saddened and depressed for too long are only missing out on the most popular vacation spot in this solar system. This is my only chance here before I head back home; I am not going to waste a moment here. This planet is my island paradise, my favorite vacation spot, I am happy to be a tourist here.
