on the way to the show i was singing "pulled into town relatively free of hassle, secured a room at the castle, it paid for itself. checked out my surroundings, headed down to thorton park, find your way, discover that things are dark", which i often sing as i was bike past pacific central, so it was really really weird to see mr. dan shortly after singing that. but the sushi bar is right near strathcona, aka destroyerland, so it wasn't so weird to see him because of that fact.

i still can't believe mr. dan sat so close to me at the gallery, or that he was even there, or that he is real. at one point i was looking at the ceiling and he saw and looked up too,...there was really nothing much to see up there, i was just trying not to look at him.
and the drummer was at a small backyard party i was at the other week, which was a birthday celebration for his friend who is the guy whose band was the word that led me to blather. i would've freaked if mr. dan had been there.

ok so i still freak a little now but it's different. i've seen him on the drive a couple times recently. today he was standing talking with someone and i walked by quickly on my way down. i've recorded in the same studio as him with the same engineer and so some of our music has the same air/hiss in it. i don't even listen to destroyer much ever these days, but he is still one of my music gods, so it is funny to see him on my way to jam/ or busking before, or the other week he was talking to someone outside the liquor store with a bottle in his hand,..he's often talking with people.

a friend toured with him and they sang on tv, that was really cool to see. i saw him last week at grandview park, kinda skulking around as he does. i am so weird, still. the last album was really good. f likes him too now. they were playing a song on mtv brasil last year, that was also cool.
