raze i don't know you, but i like your face. you have a mouth shaped like a small heart. i wonder what sounds it makes when you open it to speak. 140323

raze i went to high school with you and never knew it. you were a few years ahead of me. there you are graduating in my tenth grade yearbook. in one picture, part of your last name is misspelled as "heart".

the shape of your mouth is in your accidental name from fifteen years ago. that's too perfect to be real.

this is the same yearbook i defaced in the middle of class, adding captions and speech bubbles and thought clouds in odd places with a silver gel pen. given the gift of expression by my hand, students comment on my manhood, discussing whether or not they've seen it and what they think of it if they have.

in one section there are pictures of art students. a guy working on a sculpture says, "ask not how large, but how efficiently the tool performs." in the panel across from him a girl who looks too indifferent to raise her eyes says, "eh, it's efficient." beneath her another guy beams as he shows off a finished painting. "this is what it would look like on neptune," he says. in a shot from one of the musicals the drama program put on, the choir sings about my penis, and in one particularly moving scene, a senior who was friendly with me in private but too cool to acknowledge my existence in public lifts up a couch and says, "oh mythere it is. i underestimated you, johnny."

elsewhere, people argue about it, denigrate it, lust after it, and cower from it in fear. but it's never seen.

i was a strange teenager.

raze wait a minute. i misread that. what she actually says is, "oh, it's efficient." not "eh". so what i thought was indifference is really a sort of cool self-satisfied inner smirk.

well, that changes everything.

no reason this name sounds like an adverb to me
carlike

nr i guess that's an adjective. could be both:

epitome of incomprehensibility You're both making me laugh. Amidst nostalgia. I don't think I was fair to the Carly in my class. I mean, I didn't treat her badly, but I sort of categorized her as a ditz early on. Why'd I think that, anyway? She had a great mind for science and was an excellent actress. Maybe it was just because she tended to misunderstand me.

Also, in the context of Carly, hypothetical penises remind me of Eliezer. Who is now a word!

epitome of incomprehensibility I misunderstood her because she misunderstood me. Hmmm. Not that I'm a hypocrite or anything.

But it's okay. George W. Bush misunderestimated us both.

raze i sent you a picture of yourself from the yearbook you don't have and made you laugh. i'm looking for a word, and the word almost rhymes with "coleslaw".

the word is "huzzah".
