ck I ate rose petals as a child from the bushes outside. I felt special and smart doing this because I had never seen anyone else eat them and they were so delicious. I would offer them to my friends and they'd usually try it and spit it out, saying it "tasted like a plant" and things like that. I tried other flowers and wore dandelion necklaces. I didn't know then that I was named after a flower. Later I was given a wonderful treat. A delicate pastry with layers of rose petal preserves or something like it. This was a job interview at a middle eastern restaurant. They told me that to work there I would have to understand and follow the "rules" of the place, I would not speak to the men unless spoken to and would not look them in the eyes. I did not accept the job. Recently I tried rose petal preserves. and rose-tulsi tea. take_time_to_eat_the_roses

You make me crave rose-flavoured Turkish delight - the flavour maybe not from the petals but the rosehips, those bulbous things at the blossom's base. I tried to take some home from the wild rose bushes at Pine_Beach_Park last September, thinking I could make them into herbal tea, but I left them at the bottom of my shopping bag and they grew wrinkled before I remembered them. Turkish delights are powdered gummy squares, not as sickeningly sweet as American-type candies but no doubt bad for the teeth. When I heard the first Narnia book read to me at age six, I'd imagined Turkish delight as French toast. Parallel_thinking: nationality plus noun?

yum. rose hips... we got some from the co-op, tried to eat one, it was like trying to eat glass... ouch. I guess they need to be soaked into tea or something.
