raze what you wrote on "hummingbird" (which is beautiful) speaks to so much of what i feel about surrendering to the joy and simplicity of something_wild while holding the fear of its eventual loss in your heart. i think i've been that bird. i think in some ways i still am, broken wings and all. and "palpitate in piqued delight" is a poem in four words.

ovenbird The very first words I gave to this place were about a dark eyed junco hidden in a bramble and your own words make me wonder if birds are, somehow, a natural place to start when it comes to Red. It felt like an interesting echo and I loved the turn you took into something that aches—the dream swallowed absolutely…that’s such a powerful image.
