I think I can say I have a plant-based diet. Somebody was using it to mean "vegan" so I was a bit anxious. The first article I got for "plant-based diet definition" said, no, it's just about eating MOSTLY plants. On the vegan topic, I guess my ethical perspective is that humans are animals, and some animals eat other animals, so I don't see meat-eating as inherently wrong. On the other hand, factory farming is cruel for the sake of profit and it harms the environment faster than other agricultural activities. Plus many people don't need to eat meat. I was vegetarian for a year, if you don't count one chicken cheat. One chicken cheat, and not in a sexual way! Because the egg came first. Yes, I did eat rather more eggs than when I had no meat. Anyway, I didn't feel healthier or unhealthier. It was just normal (and in Quebec, a bit cheaper). Currently, it'd be inconvenient to refuse meat, but when I'm cooking for/eating by myself, like when my parents were in Newfoundland this July, I don't usually eat it. Oh oh! Here is a plant-based meal. You put some lettuce on a plate. Then you layer on chicken, beef, pork...

If you don't have any animal products, it's good to have a B12 vitamin. If you're vegetarian, you probably don't need any extra in-a-bottle stuff. Except vitamin D if you're in a Canadian winter. But talk to a real doctor and not me. I mean, do talk to me, just not for individualized medical advice.
