it makes me feel sick i was watching tv when ivan was announced i've been following its path my family and i have been talking about new orleans for days and days, since the day ivan was announced i heard the weather lady first announce it we said this could happen i've had the hip's "new orleans is sinking" song playing in my head this whole time i have long worried about new orleans, eversince some pbs show once but especially since i heard about ivan why can't the weather people listen to my family? people could've started getting prepared sooner. new orleans could be a whole lot more empty by now. why do the weather folks get it so wrong? why don't they hire my family? they could set up a microphone in my living room and give us our own weather show. really hoping new_orleans is not hit directly on. really really hoping.

and just for the record, i wasn't saying that i thought/think new orleans was/is going to be directly hit, but that with such a possibility, more could've been done to prepare everyone along the coast there, stretching eastward to the florida pan handle. with the risk of massive storm surges being so great, i think it's better to be safe than sorry, neh? over the past however many days its been since ivan started, my prediction for landfall in the states has been alabama, with a leaning towards louisiana. that's what they are saying on tv now. but why didn't they talk about that possibility (more) sooner? i certainly don't trust the official weather people much. if i lived down there i think i might be pissed right off. silly back seat weather gal
