another dream cz. darker, surprisingly wooden, enclosed. moving out, as i am. clearing out corners and cruft that's been buried there for years. boxes come out, and the room is nearly empty. i discover a hole in the wall, with a plant growing inside of it. it's salvia, as i haven't seen in years. i recognize it by the squarish stalk. i brush some other things away from the wall and find more branches. some have flowers on them. i realize i've never seen salvia bloom. it hits me that the plant isn't salvia at all, but some sort of sweet pea. i'd seen a pea plant with a square stalk a few days earlier. i stand up to try to figure out where this plant is coming from, it's not originating from within the wall. out the window i see that a massive tangle of pea plant binds our building to the one across the way, made of bricks. it's growing out of an open window. the plant gets into the wall on our side and makes its way indoors in a few places. i rest my arms on the sill to get a better look, and almost immediately feel things bite my arms. i pull my arms back, and brush them off vigorously. little bodies fall to the floor with dull plunking sounds. i was bitten by maggots and smooth, green, segmented carnivorous caterpillars. i run to get my insect killer. i grab the most toxic one i can find, and come back and spray their twitching, crawling bodies. the spray hardly affects the caterpillars, but the maggots get very angry before they die, and bite the caterpillars, killing them too. these caterpillars and maggots are streaming over the bridge between the two buildings, over the ledge, and onto the floor. a river of insecticide forms, with writing, dying bodies being swept away towards the door.. i spray the plant out as far as i can reach, which isn't too far. maybe that will stop them. not once do i think of actually cutting the plant itself.
