It is the way to educate your eye, and more. Stare, pry, listen, eavesdrop. Die knowing something.

Sometimes I can tell someone has noticed my disability and is staring. They look at my hand for a long time, comprehending abnormality. The next thing a starer does is look up at my face. I’m ready. I look straight back at them, holding their gaze. Then the starer gets all uncomfortable and looks away. Disabled party tricks.

Hey dude from this morning, I went to McD's to get something to eat _NOT_ to be creeped out by your intensely heated and unwavering stare. Wearing a baggy shapeless sweatshirt in 80+ temps after just having slathered some lotion on my face before leaving our place I walked into McD's and this guy does a double take when I walk in the door, and ok I'm willing to ignore that for the first 8ish seconds bc fuck it's hot out side and I'm wearing a sweat shirt plus it looks like my face is smeared in pizza grease (although by then the lotion had pretty much been absorbed in), so it's understandable that I might get looked at oddly for leaving the house looking like this, thats fine, but then this guy ~continues~ to look at me with such great intensity(!) All the while I'm trying to pretend that I haven't noticed him as I eye the menu to decide what I want to eat, and I swear he just stood there staring me down for what felt like 3 or 4 whole mins, I don't know if he thought that because I never looked at him that I didn't notice him staring and thus thought it was ok to continue doing so, or if by staring at me like that he was trying to get my attention and catch my eye, I've truly no fucking clue, eather way he did eventually walk away, weather out of embarrassment for his rudeness or out of anger for me not being willing to acknowledge him I don't know, but still guy seriously creeped me out. Staring at someone weather you think they notice or not is ~_NOT_~ ok and never will be. You know how on some cop shows they blur out peoples faces? I wish it were possible to buy one of those in full body size, I'd never leave the house with out one. Yea like to see someone try to stare there way through THAT!

I catch myself staring when I don't wear my glasses, as if looking longer will make the image clearer... luckily I can't see the faces of people I stare at so I will just assume they don't mind. I used to hug strangers thinking they were someone I knew for this reason too, when I lived in my "home town" where I knew a lot of people... now I don;t know enough people to think I might be running into them.
