raze i watched this moth walk around in my bedroom for a while, exploring, until it found the pedestal fan that really just serves to pump out a bit of white noise at night. after deciding the base of the fan was something that could be surmounted, it climbed on top, and i swear i saw it clap its hands in celebration. 180303

epitome of incomprehensibility You reminded me of seeing a spider last week, hanging from a web outside the train station. Now that I think about it, it seemed to be showing off.

I took it as a good omen and a harbinger of spring.

raze i wrestle with the same thing — deciding whether or not to use a comma in a sentence like that. i think about half the time i do, and half the time i don't. for me it comes down to feel in the end. my grade eight english teacher would give me the look of death if she heard me say that, but it's true! 180305

e_o_i Dunno if that's really rule-based. Commas for pauses ARE more about feel (is there a pause here? how long?) and whether they'll make reference issues (what word goes with what word) more or less confusing. 180306
