The spell is so fiery that it burns the caster for even *thinking* about casting it, and the more one contemplates it, the more one fries. "So," you ask, "why not cast it real fast, you know, like, spontaneously?" The answer is, "because you can't." Currently I'm not at liberty to elaborate. Incidentally, one theoretically *could* cast Ice_5 on the Fire_5 spell (if it wasn't for the fact that Fire_5 is needed to cast Ice_5), but that would temper the spell and render it Fire_4.
