Maybe if you do it in some humourous fashion, ie suffocation by sticking your head up a cows arse whilst sitting 2/3s of the way up a ferris wheel in the snow and wearing pink overalls and odd shoes, but other than that I fail to see why it's silly. It's a rather serious thing in fact. Wanting to do that means that you've going to the point of such nihilism that nothing matters at all any more. You know that there may be future happinesses, you know that there are still people who care about you, but none of it matters as long as you can stop the pain. You'll never know what you're giving up, so you'll never miss it. But to end this pain...
