nr first my headphones stopped working. then my cable to charge my e-reader stopped working. then my cable to connect to a power bank to charge my phone, in the middle of the pacific ocean, stopped working.

all of this happened in three days, in another country. analog is looking pretty good.

raze every day i have less hope that the files trapped on the failed drive i've paid an absurd amount of money to try and revive will ever be extracted. so many of these supposedly advanced systems seem designed to fall apart. it's a miracle any sounds i didn't set down on some finite but flexible physical media survive at all. stranger still to think there are words i didn't ink on paper that exist as more than digital dust. when the shutter blades in my camera were on their last legs, half of what i photographed was saddled with a dark mass that either obscured the subject altogether or hovered above it, creating the illusion of some featureless beast about to devour everything whole. stare long enough into the unblinking eyes of a machine and accidents start to look like omens. 251130
