like a seed in the earth we connect. like the tide and the moon we relate. like a lie and the truth we are linked. like a storm in a desert we oppose. like noise in a wind we are lost. .

they find a way in their way to connect to me and I find it both comforting and awkward but isn't that what family is for?

After you have had a stroke for awhile, and your muscles are still not working as they should, the fibrous connective tissue around the muscles starts acting up. Ligaments, that connect bone to bone, and tendons, that connect muscle to bone, do not talk with the brain, the way muscles do. But if your muscles do not know how to move, ligaments and tendons get tight. There is also fascia that wraps muscles like saran wrap. That can be tight too. My occupational therapist says that my connective tissue is getting better, but slowly. Sigh. More stuff to work on.

eye_contact erupting into smiles waking up to look in your eyes to fall back asleep to wake up to look in your eyes for hours i listen closer and i can hear the texas in the way you talk we've decided to grow this thing slowly, coaxing like an orchid. patience in the end yielding a beautiful result. the world erupts into spontaneous smiles (to bottle this feeling for a rainy day)

it starts to seem like the older you get, the people you most often keep in touch with are similar to you in lifestyle and life stage. you like them and you relate to them but they aren't always the ones you connect with the most strongly. they might even rarely be. if you're more like the ones in a different life place who are further away, why aren't you there with them? if you're the same, what makes you different?
