one_for_the_thumb crOwl somehow i have too say something about steeler fever ...how everywhere you went people were wearing black and gold. cheers were being sung and an undisputable sense of oneness was flowing like a stream at our feet. all you had to do was make a cup with your hands and drink from it. it seemed ever since they won the first playoff game against the bengals the term steeler nation took on actual significance. then they beat indie and denver and they were on their way to the super bowl...living near pittsburgh, i've always been a steeler fan but what has occured here is nothing short of beautiful and amazing. all ages swept up in this glorious tide of community awareness...something we all want, not so much for a sports team, but for life, i think. there were parties everywhere. bars...streets..homes...and the yelling, hoarse voices, the singing, shouting, the hugs, high fives, it was all so crazy...and best of all we beat the seahawks last night and are now champions...one for the thumb.... 060206 ... crOwl there was a parade through the pittsburgh city and a victory rally in point state park afterwards... 25o,ooo people... i didn't go, just watched in on the tee-vee. but something is shouting out a metaphor to me about what makes a quarter of a million people gather to celebrate a football team winning the world championship. begins with a vision-- a plan-- work ethic-- practice, day after day... execution-- dealing with ups and downs-- hope, belief, faith... until the ultimate goal of success is reached. we all want to succeed at something. at being alive. making it through until the end. and then share it with others. 060207 ... crOwl troy was crowd surfing. when he leaped he fell into what seemed like a hard mattress...stiff arms catching a god. 060208 what's it to you? who go blather from
