many cheering faces, strangely static and recurring. universes inside them, aligning and leaving, to and fro. them, but not them.

sometimes I look at them while walking through campus and they all seem like ants; their patterns of movement are complex and indistinguishable to me, they go every which way and intersect each other, and they all seem very busy all the time. when I look in their faces though, I know they are monkeys.

Market Street, Union Square, the Centre, Chinatown, J-town, the piers, campus, library, Transbay Terminal, Metreon, SFMOMA.... So many faces, so many stories, so little time, so little care...nothing to do but stare at the crowd that's seemingly everywhere.
