You came into my life in an instant message, Making my world seem somehow smaller, Distorting my perception, my perspective, And throwing it into disorder. Across seas, lands and religions, Talking about things with you, Feeling my way around your mind, Finding things I already knew. Together typing through the night, Looking at the same face of the moon, Both watching the sun rise, Feeling the warmth spread through the room. Getting home from school, I log on; I notice that you’re not there. I sit and wait till the sun goes down, And decide to wash my hair. You always told me when you were going away, On holiday, or somewhere out of town, But as I sit here I begin to wonder, The thoughts buried deep in my frown. One month I sat there and waited, Wondering what’s happening to you, What happened in your corner of the world? Piecing together fragments of what I knew. Emails constantly piled up, In your inbox, if you ever discovered. If you were out of town, when would you be back? If you were ill, I think now you have recovered. So forever and a day I sit here, Waiting for you to log on, Reminiscing the long talks we had together, About dreams, life, our love and so on...
