I have a guitar. Well, several, but one stands out as being my favorite. I took it to an instrument shop, and we stipped it down and took to it witha a hammer and a chisel, lighters, cigarettes, towed it behind the van up and down the street.
Put it back together, put some seymor duncan hot rod pickups in, I designed an active circuit for it (because the pickup set was for 2 singles and a humbucker, but being a telecaster i had only room for one single)
I then took it to an engravers, and had it named "The Brain".
It's my special guitar. Cost me $800 to get the work done. But it's the best.

i'm teaching myself to play. i bought a beautiful red stained guitar yesterday from the neighbourhood guitar store, nothing too fancy, but it was also the nicest sounding of all those in the 'beginner' price range.
so far: chromatic scale, g, d, and c major chords.

used to be drawn to sleek, spotless, glossy new guitars. they looked pretty, so i thought they'd sound pretty too. now i know better. the best guitars are old, lived-in, battle-scarred. they have stories to tell, and if you take the time to listen, they'll help you to tell yours.
