epitome of incomprehensibility A lined notebook with a floral-pattern cover chronicles my trip "out west" with my family - the time we went all the way to British Columbia, not the time we halted our westward odyssey in Alberta.

Grandpa financed both journeys, as far as I remember. We went via VIA and I'd sing in the train's shower, enjoying the echo.

During the trip to B.C. I was only in grade two, but the teacher insisted on me doing a writing assignment because I'd miss a week of school.

When I'd cross out mistakes, I'd turn the scribbled-on words into drawings of flowers.

epitome of incomprehensibility 2022 UK trip, condensed into three sentences for the writing teacher who finally got back to me:

Anyway, I had a great trip except that my electronics conspired against me (laptop keyboard had keys that wouldn't type, phone got stuck on a loading screen, credit card wouldn't pay a taxi and I had to send the cabbie a money order through David). Oh yes, and getting the phone reset wiped out all my pictures of Stonehenge (not that is hasn't been photographed millions of times!) But yes: I saw Oxford, and then we had a small holiday, going to Cardiff, Glastonbury, Salisbury, and into London briefly to see a bookstore and a performance of The Phantom of the Opera.
