tenor_banjo
raze it was one of those impulse_buys. i didn't need another banjo. i already had two tenors and a banjitar. but you can never have too many four-stringed friends with skinny necks, or so i told myself. there was no name on the body or the headstock. as far as i could figure, it was made by slingerland half a century or so before i was born. it ended up eating dust for a decent chunk of my life. there was nothing wrong with it. i just wasn't inspired to play it once it was mine. i tried for years to sell it. finally found a taker a hundred and forty nautical miles from here. i swaddled its skin in bubble wrap and eased it into a case i thought i'd lost or imagineda soft shell that was once meant to protect a double_neck guitar. somehow it arrived in one piece. now it belongs to someone who already loves it more than i was ever able to. and what are the chances he would be an arthur_russell fan? 250904
