raze i picked up a used vinyl copy of "exposure" some years back for six bucks. after listening to the album for the first time, i realized i would have gladly spent ten times that amount of money and i wouldn't have regretted a cent of it. i love "scratch" more than most peter_gabriel fans probably do. "sacred songs" has to be one of the most interesting things daryl hall has ever been involved in. but this is the crown jewel in fripp's self-described "mor trilogy". every ambient mood piece and spoken interlude and insane electric guitar squall earns its place. it's home to the definitive version of "here comes the flood". it also begs the question: how the hell did peter hammill never sing with king crimson? if ever there was a voice that belonged in the fripp universe, it's his. the proof is in the pudding, and it tastes like tape loops and minor mysteries. 250507

warmthofrelease Agree with all of the above, including that Scratch gets overlooked. More mixed feelings about the different versions of Here Comes the Flood, those lyrics are so powerful in every context and I appreciate the differences in versions and subsequent impact.

The one thing I have to add is that on the first Brian_Eno record Warm Jets, when he was still much more Roxy_Music than he was ambient, Fripp's solo(s) on Baby's_On_Fire is some of the most intense satisfying and facemelting guitar work I've ever heard in my life. It's such a supernova of steel. Including all King_Crimson and all other collabs it stands as my single favorite moment of his.
