raze back when i still had music in me, i came to really enjoy setting up a situation for someone else to walk into and then turning the spotlight on them. letting them star in the sprawling sonic film i was making. some of the solos were written. some were improvised. a few were a mixture of the two.

whatever the player's technical proficiency, however uncertain or confident they were stepping into the studio, whether they were using their breath or their flesh to make an instrument come alive, there was always this sense of surprise sprouting up where no one else had looked to find it. sometimes i miss that.
