karaoke
raze i've only been to a karaoke bar once in my life, and when i was there i didn't do any singing. it must have been about twelve years ago. the beer was flat. the jell-o shots were more gelatin than liquor. no one paid any attention to the singers who could really sing. everyone wanted to laugh at the train wrecks. i thought it would be funny if two guys got up onstage and sang a duet of "you've lost that lovin' feelin'" drunk out of their skulls, and then when it actually happened it was a lot less entertaining than i hoped it would be. it was just sloppy drunk. there was none of the endearing overwrought demented quality i gave it in my head. still, it was a good night in spite of all those mild annoyances. i should go again someway, for more drunken train wrecks and more suspicious jell-o shots. 140802

raze i was going to say i meant to type someday, not someway, but i kind of like someway. it's one of those accidents you look back at and instead of wincing you find yourself smiling a little. 140802
