if i read you correctly, then, chaos (resistance) is a process by which we establish a more civilized order. chaos is the natural reaction to the ill health of an order which is too small to contain the "beingness" of a civilization. assuming that there is the growth of new developments over time with any evolving system. it is fair to note that the old order and history of civilization cannot be destroyed, only rearranged, i.e. tribal warfare becomes football games.

Resistance is part of order, not chaos. Resistance is the setting of and adherence to limitations. I'm saying chaos is not an option. We are not chaotic. Largely by nature, we are, in fact, civilized. "Kosmos", is it not called? The grown order of a complex system. Neither order nor chaos has anything to do with apparent 'health' of any system/society. Our order does not take ANYTHING into account. It is not conscious. It is not self-aware. It just occurs because we are alive and making decisions. P.S. It sucks that I spelled "resistance" incorrectly.

he said, “even during times of positive expansion—both economically and socially—durkheim found that suicide rates are the same as during times of depression.” “why would that be the case?” i was waiting to turn left at the light where huron intersects with plymouth. we were picking up indian takeout to celebrate buying a new house in canada. “because all change is upheaval.” up ahead, the traffic merged from two lanes into a single-file line skirted by pylons.
