reading_in_the_bathroom
raze i think this is a near-universal truthsomething almost everyone does at one time or another, but few would willingly cop to.

i've done it. i still do from time to time. i won't lend someone a book that's seen any bathroom exposure, though. that's crossing the line.

in the third grade, i got busted smuggling a videogame-themed magazine into the boys' rest room. i hid it under my shirt. i was proud of myself for pulling it off, until i walked back into the classroom after the deed had been done and my teacher asked me with a wry grin what i had under my shirt.

someone ratted me out. i never found out who it was. it wasn't important. i didn't get in trouble or anything. the only thing that happened when i pulled out my magazine was some good-natured laughing.

years later, i ran into a different teacher in a grocery store and he reminded me of this story as if he'd been there when it happened. i guess word spread, and the kid with the questionable bathroom reading material hidden in his clothes became a legend spoken of in hushed, reverent voicesa veritable robin hood for pre-pubescent nintendo fans everywhere.

well...not really. it was just a funny little thing that happened. one for the weird_confessions, maybe.
