belly fire "I'd rather listen to interesting CRAP than boring talent," he said.
But then that's his everything, the all encompassing Gregness speaking.
James Dean smoking, walking, talking, surfing, listening, reading...inspiring.
Greg seems to walk as if in a bubble where he is safe from his surroundings. He seems to be unafraid. As I worked next to him tonight, I imagined how he might sound wooing his wife. How his voice would call out her beauty, how his long fingers would find her belly and feel their growing baby turning within his own protective bubble.
Will the child inherit his fathers' taste in culture? His near-apathy for conflict? His crooked walk that is neither self-conscious nor cocky?
Greg's voice puts you at ease with this seemingly limitless open-minded tone. He could laugh off the walls falling down around him. He is untouchable at work and everyone is in love with him for it.
"After midnight it's way left of centre. Only crazy progressive shit. I love it. I've been listening for the last 15 years. You gotta listen."

raze good memories of late nights spent listening to sounds that were alien and fascinating to my teenage ears. i have patti schmidt to thank for introducing me to the wooden stars, forever one of my favourite canadian bands. i miss that show, and her voice, lulling me awake when i should have been sleeping. 130830
