tender_square "his responses do strike me as a bit extreme," her therapist agreed. "but i'm wondering if this is how his anger is leaking out."

she had been trying to leave without hurting him. an impossible feat. not that her therapist was judging; in fact, she said it may be the best approach for the situation—uncoupling with kindness—and reiterated that she had a right to go.

"that makes sense," she said through a veil of tears. "that allows me to take it less personally than i have been, to let go of the blame."

she had found herself apologizing for slights, while at the same time accepting shit she shouldn't.

"you're trying to get through this period as best as you can," her therapist reassured her.
