whole_wheat_bread
epitome of incomprehensibility After almost a week of eating gluten-free (following the diets of people feeding me - my aunt's intolerant to it and it gives her skin rashes) I woke up at five this morning craving a single slice of whole wheat bread.

I tried to reason with myself.

Reasonable self: Oh, so you're craving unhealthy food, right? Say, a hamburger?

Craving: Yuck. Too greasy.

Self: What about croissants?

Craving: No. Too flaky. Too sugary. I want A SINGLE SLICE OF WHOLE WHEAT BREAD.

Self: Alrighty then.

...And this evening there was a community supper at the small-town Canadian Legion that serves as a bar/restaurant/grocery store and I had a white-flour bun and some pie.

Not wholesome. I want my whole wheat bread, dammit, pronounced with the aitches intact as my Dad with his Maine accent still says it. Whole wheat bread is all about enunciation, the grains of syllables.

flowerock I don't eat any grains, I feel much better, but I stopped necause I had tummy and skin issues, so maybe some people can handle it and still be well eating it. Just stick to organic/non gmo and if you can get it, sprouted!

eat what makes you feel good and doesn't cause discomfort later.

as for me... grain_free_vegan possibly reintroducing fish soon... it's a tough call. I don't eat corn or soy or white potatoes either... the cravings go away eventually, once your body adjusts to your new way of eating. : )
