The winter has slipped away again and all memory of the chalky white asphalt is slipping...the ice-packed lawns...the crunch of snow beneath my wet shoes...all replaced by sunshine. The combination of smells upon opening the door in the morning; the hot, thick air of my car rushing out the open windows; the maddening songs of the birds in the neighbourhood; the new love curled around my body looking out to the foggy escarpment from the shore. All memory of cold and bitter and lonely are washed away by this blanket of sunshine over the city.

i thought the horses had chewed up the fence but it was just the bright light of the sunshine, rising in the east, playing tricks on my saucer eyes.
