aM i DiStUrBeD? And he stood there and rejected her,
Her in her full glory: willing to reveal.
He knew that what he wanted was a lie and that everything he knew wasn’t going to work.
Turning his back, he walked away.

And she stood there and let him reject her,
Him in his full glory: knowing that he was revealed.
She knew that they both wanted the same thing and that it wasn’t a lie, he was hiding from himself.
Standing her ground, she let him walk away.

But they both knew that they were stubborn,
And neither of them was going to back down.
She knew he could see her and tell her everything in his dreams,
Everything his stuttering tongue wouldn’t allow.
He knew she could see through him and she would tell him this in her dreams,
Breaking forth from the restrictions of her feeble frame.

"Are you still coming with me?"
"Where to and what's the point? You don’t care anymore."
"I won’t see you again, you might be gone by that time."
"Goodbyes are too long anyway."

And he stumbled away for the first few steps that he took away from her.
Straining from the pang of guilt reawakened inside.
He wanted to see her again, he knew that now.
Leaning of his stick as the 'prop' for his soul.

She ached as the first few steps that he made were attempted.
Cries of her heart re-awakened from the past.
But she knew that nothing she said could make him turn back.
Straining through her spectacles for a glimpse of the past.

Parting this way was such sweet sorrow,
As they both knew they had come to some sort of a 'silent agreement'.
Dust of the past had been disturbed,
They had said they wouldn’t meet again.

But they both knew they would meet,
Hearts entwining,
Peace at last.
The past re-writing itself on their aged forms.
